A lot of the games that suffer from this are huge franchises or titles with mainstream audiences that get a an inordinate amount of promotion. "Greedy anti-consumer behavior" can't exist if it's not rewarded financially, just like games like this can't exist if people refuse to buy them. Buy games that are released in a finished state with many hours of play time. I'm posting and commenting here cuz I'm interested in playing the game, not taking down people who want the game to continue getting support, or minimizing peoples game-breaking issues. This and your other comment you made make me think you have little empathy. Like he hasn't suffered from a terrible PC port. Nobody is encouraging greedy anti-consumer behavior, don't put that on him. You are correct about modern business cycle, but I feel like game industry is heading a wrong direction. Except, this phenomenon seems to be quite common. I want to tell them : "So what? It's complete and provides enough enjoyment for its price". What happened? It feels like just recently it was ok to stop updating a game if it was complete.īut now, I see negative review to Conquest of Eo complaining that game is not being updated. Yes it has enough content to warrant its price, but "complete game" is a nebulous concept.Īt first I wanted to say that you are completely wrong, but after doing a quick search on the Internet. The modern business cycle does not end, it is a cycle as long as it remains profitable. Sadly the sales probably were not good enough to get DLC, but the game is finished and it is good, highly recommended especially on sale. It has enough content for the price (also it is often on sale).
